The Role
This role is for a Maintenance Engineer who is highly skilled in mechanical and electrical engineering. You will be responsible for the management of ongoing maintenance programmes (TPM and PPM) and mentoring of engineers specialising in the servicing of heavy crushing, drying and processing machinery in an aggregate production and refining environment. This role will involve MAN management, contractor management and providing technical guidance/assistance to your small team in heavy machinery electrical and mechanical fault-finding, maintenance and servicing. You will be involved in the ongoing management of H&S, Quality, Delivery and Cost management within the business.
- Ensure full utilisation for all Safety Critical Maintenance, accurate spares management, and scheduled maintenance on machinery.
- Deliver budget and demonstrate cost control within contractual guidelines.
- Prioritise and plan repairs in line with customer business needs.
- Define, support, and lead LEAN projects seeking efficiency in all business processes.
- Develop, implement and manage TPM methodology for each area of equipment and plant.
- Liaise with management on the development of Operator/Technician staff.
- Driving improvement of the maintenance department by use of LEAN/CI methodologies.
- Participating in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes such as Kaizen and 5S.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate for the role will have the following attributes;
You will need extensive experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a similar industry – heavy production industries or a strong background in aggregates.
- Experience in managing and implementing PPM and TPM Systems.
- Knowledge of LEAN Principles and how to implement a significant programme of continuous improvement within a similar business.
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding and maintenance knowledge.
- Engineering qualification – ideally ONC/HNC qualified in an engineering discipline.
