We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Senior Social Worker to join our team in CHO6 Dublin Adult Services, currently based in Dun Laoghaire/Sandyford.

Overview of the Post:

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a quality Social Work service to adults with disabilities accessing our services, and to their families. This service will include assessment and intervention to meet the ongoing complex and challenging needs of our Service Owners.

Overview of Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for the provision of a range of Social Work services to adult Service Owners and their families. These may include assessment, review, support, advice, counselling, advocacy service and information giving.
  • To provide ongoing Social Work support to designated clients on an individual, group and family basis with emphasis on disability related issues.
  • To work as part of an interdisciplinary team providing services to adults and their families within the ethos and philosophy of Enable Ireland.
  • To provide training and facilitate group based interventions for Service Owners, families, and carers as required.
  • Working in partnership with Service Owners and their families, providing holistic services aimed at enhancing the quality of life and social wellbeing of Service Owners.
  • To facilitate Service Owners and their families to access support and respite services.
  • To provide professional leadership to the team in the identification, prioritisation and delivery of a high quality Social Work service and ensure equity across teams.
  • To attend relevant HSE/multiagency adult protection case conferences as required.
  • To attend virtual and in-person service meetings, family meetings, team meetings, and external meetings as required.
  • To support the Services Manager in providing training in relation to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
  • To support the Services Manager in ensuring that all staff adhere to the Protocol for the Protection & Welfare of Children, and Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons at Risk of Abuse policies and procedures.
  • To provide support and supervision to Social Workers as required.
  • To participate in the evaluation of the service and research initiatives.
  • Ensure the maintenance of Service Owner data and confidentiality.
